Custom Touches
Paloma’s Nest is a great company that offers up custom options for your home and special event. If you have yet to check them out now is the time! Check out their ever popular ring bearer bowls and their custom wedding dress hangers. Perfect for a Nantucket wedding!
This maple wood hanger is hand stamped with the names or text of your choice. The perfect hanger for a wedding gown, bridesmaid’s dress, or suit/tux jacket. Custom stamped with your wedding date or just a phrase to add some personality to your hall closet.
The Ring Bearer Bowl™ has two little holes near the top rim, through which we lace a silky cotton cord to hold your rings for your wedding ceremony. This cord can be easily switched out by you for a ribbon that matches your wedding style, if you wish.
After the ceremony, the cord can be tied into a loop or a bow, and the bowl can hold jewelry, mementos or other treasures. The tiny dish can also be hung by the cord, on the wall next to your wedding photo, in a shadow box frame, or on your holiday tree. This piece is intended to become a family heirloom.
Ring Bearer Bowls are available with our selection of original texts, or with the Custom words of your choice. Names, dates, and meaningful phrases are sure to make this piece one that is passed on for generations.
The Sconset Chapel
The quaint town of Siasconset is a favorite for many island couples. With its rose covered cottages, wandering crushed shell paths, and little markets – it is a destination in and of itself. The chapel is a favorite with couple’s looking to say their I do’s, and it books up quickly. Take a behind the scenes look at real weddings as videographer Meg Simone, Brea McDonald Photography, and Soiree Floral capture the newly minted ‘Mr and Mrs’
Outdoor Ceremony Preparation
The weather is always an unpredictable and stressful topic for weddings. Rain, hurricanes, wind…. nobody wants it! We all want a bright beautiful sunshine filled Nantucket wedding. If you are planning an outside wedding there are a few ways to help prepare for your best case scenario.
If you are having an outside ceremony consider covering all your bases by putting up a tent to cover your guests. This can help protect them from not only a rainy day but also a bright, sunny and hot day. Offering up some shade will help keep your guests more comfortable.
If your ceremony will be on the short and sweet side parisols are also a great way to offer up some shade to guests. Place a large basket of them at the back of the seating area so guests can choose one as they take their seats.
Consider setting fans on all the guests seats or creating your programs to look like fans. Guests get a wonderfully creative memento from the ceremony and another option for keeping themselves cool.
Offer beverages! This is very important for all guests comfort in the heat. Ask your caterer about setting about a drink station or bar at your location. Another option that can be fun is a lemonade stand or barrels filled with ice cold water.

Wedding Inspirations
There are many places both on the web and in print for couples to get ideas, color combinations, the latest look in dresses, etc. One of our favorite resources for island weddings is Wellwed Magazine. The pages of the magazine are filled to the brim with amazing details that give your day that extra special touch. The website for the magazine showcases local vendor resources, and posts tips from the most sought after vendors. Be sure to include this magazine on your must reads as you start to pull the inspiring details together for your ‘I Do’s’. You will be glad you did.
Not-So Secret Locations…The Chanticleer
Holiday Magazine was quoted as saying, “Here in ‘Sconset, between the cranberry bogs and the rose-grown bluffs, is one of the most beguiling villages in the world.” Sconset is a very quaint and unique part of Nantucket and a hidden gem to many that travel to the island. A Private Concierge knows that the beautiful village of ‘Sconset offers many opportunities for the most gorgeous wedding views and venues including the chapel, beaches and the well-known Chanticleer.
The Chanticleer known locally as the “Ivy Covered Cottage,” is known for its rose-covered exterior, exquisite gardens and exceptional cuisine. Its modern French menu emphasizing New England and artisan ingredients is complemented by a festive dining experience which is just one of the many highlights of the venue.
