Autumn Inspiration Board
Cozy fabrics and rich warm tones rule the fall season in New England. This Inspiration Board caught our eye at Snippet and Ink. Can’t you just see this rustic wedding taking place at the Sconset Casino or at Westmoor Farms??

Fall Colors & Textures
Fall brides have so much to choose from when it comes to color palette and blooms for their bouquets and centerpieces. Everything is available from seed pods, oak leaves, miniature gourds/pumpkins/corn, bittersweet vines and the oh-so-showy dahlias in every color imaginable (think a rusty orange and a deep burgundy). Mixing up textures can bring a lot of ‘wow’ to the table that will let your guests feast on eye candy all evening long.
At Soiree Floral, some of their favorites this fall have been reclaimed wood, birch bark containers, rosehips, exotic striped orchids, and fiddlehead ferns. Below is a sophisticated tablescape by Soiree Floral where they added mini crabapples to the base of every design. Blue silk linens with burlap runners, twig chargers, and gilded chargers graced the table. All rentals by Placesetters.
Personalized Table Runners
Couples are getting creative with the way they personalize their special day. Monograms play a huge role in that. You can put it on cocktail napkins, totes for your bridal party, it can even be your icon on all your wedding stationary.
Another way to bring a sentimental touch and have a keepsake is to have a personalized table runner. We found I Do Originals and they have numerous designs and colors to choose from. For 2011 couples, it’s never too early to start thinking about the details (and these guys are so busy, they aren’t taking new orders until the first of the year). A personalized runer would look great on your cake table!
Nantucket Vendors Create Vintage Inspiration
There are so many amazing vendors here on Nantucket who help to make your wedding dreams come true. With the latest issue of Wellwed magazine out on news stands, we thought it would be fun to show you the hard work that goes in to getting some of those beautiful images on the pages you couples use as you gather inspiration for your big day.
Back in early May, vendors got together for the Fall photo shoot of the magazine. Armed with a color palette and vintage ribbons, this is what they pulled together.
Vendors involved in the shoot included Placesetters, Jodi’s Cakes, Zofia Photography, Marty Kelly Papers and Soiree Floral.
Marty Kelly of Marty Kelly Papers (in the stripes) and Dawn Kelly of Soiree Floral(no, they aren’t related and yes they have been asked if they are sisters) put the finishing touches to the table as they get ready for the stationary close-ups. Be sure to check out the magazine to see the amazing cake created by Jodi’s cakes.
What details will you choose to focus on for your big day? Have fun and get inspired as you start planning for your big day.
Beach Inspired Tabletop
Many Nantucket couples come to get hitched here because of the tranquility of the beach. If you are choosing to hold your rehearsal dinner or reception on or near the beach, carry out Mother Nature’s treasures up on to your tabletop. You can rent rattan chargers, napkin rings, bamboo silverware and even basket weave plates from Placesetters. A shell linen completes the look. Ask stationer Marty Kelly to design your menu’s and escort cards with a shell motif in your colors. You can complete the look by using scallop shell or quahog shells to hold salt and pepper. A seaside inspired table sure to excite your guests!
Destination Weddings & Honeymoons
Though many of us consider Nantucket to be our home it is also a popular destination venue for weddings. If not for the couple then always for their guests! Destination Weddings & Honeymoons Magazine is featuring a stunning Nantucket wedding in their July/August issue coming out on stands right now. The breathtaking Galley wedding is featured in a two page spread with the couples personal story and some inside scoop on their wedding style.
You can pick up copies of this National publication in bookstores and local news stands OR you can purchase a digital download on their website.
Congratulations to all the vendors for their hard work and this recent feature!
